Relationship, money and other challenges we face!
One of the questions we ask when you sign up to the pre-notification list is:
What is your biggest challenge?
I have been profoundly moved by many of these questions and would like to answer a few here.
By far and large the majority of the questions are about money. For instance:
How to attract/get more money without having to get another job
How can I make extra money so I can help my family and others financially?
how to get the money that i want?
How to build a great future for my family successfully?
Why am I not attracting wealth and financial freedom?
and many more…
So let’s talk about money!
If you do not have the money you want in your life, I suggest you quit trying so hard to get it, and decide to approach the challenge from a different angle.
First it is crucial to understand a very important concept. Money is not real.
Sure it is real in the way that you hold it, and pay for food and fuel. But in another sense, understand that money is simply a piece of paper (or coin) you hold in your hand and use to trade for something else. It isn’t even backed by anything anymore!
The other very important idea to get is that you don’t want money. What you want is the things money can bring to you.
Many people believe (because we are programmed to believe this way) is that money will bring you happiness. And if you do not have money to buy the things (cars, homes, clothes, friends…) that brings happiness - you can never be happy.
And that is wrong, Happiness cannot be bought. Happiness is an inside job and can only be given by you - to you.
Now I am not saying having extra money won’t allow you to enjoy the finer things in life - but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that more money makes you more of what you already are.
Are you cheap? Money makes you beggardly.
Are you happy? Money lets you spread happiness.
Are you angry? Money lets you spread it.
Are you a an alcoholic? Money lets you drink better alcohol.
Are you depressed. Money lets you buy better? drugs and doctors.
Here is what I suggest as a beginning…
Take some time and have a retreat with yourself.
Define what success is to you. Just name three things that you would be doing, feeling, having that you feel would define success for you. Then get those very clearly in your mind.
Next - define where you are now in relation to those definitions and map out exactly what you would have to do in order to be successful. (You do not have to eat the whole elephant at once you know!) What is your first step? Take one positive action immediately to that step.
Now define your values. What is crucial in your life? Family? Honor? Humor? Helping others? Religion? Would you give your life for it? Name four.
Now do those four values align with:
Your definitions of success?
And your current life?
Then, and only then come back to the money.
Want more money? Define exactly WHY you want more money. For what? And do those reasons resonate with your success and values?
I am willing to wager you are probably out of alignment fairly seriously somewhere along the line.
For instance you might be making a living doing something you are not passionate about.
or
You really do not when you are successful - by your terms.
or
You believe that anything you do is OK because it brings you a lot of money.
Then when you get the money you will be happy.
1. It ain’t going to happen.
2. If it did - you wouldn’t be happy anyway.
Now I do have some tools to actually get started with some of this - but this post is already way too long.
Maybe if I get some comments I will offer them for free!
Don’t worry! Be happy!
